Dexter Lanoyd Dickens was convicted in the Northern District of Florida in 2004 of conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute five kilograms or more of a mixture or substance containing cocaine (21 U.S.C. §§ 841(a)(1), 841(b)(1)(A)(ii), & 846); four counts of distribution of a mixture or substance containing cocaine within 1,000 feet of a school (21 U.S.C. §§ 841(a)(1), 841(b)(1)(C), & 860); principal to distribution and possession with intent to distribute a mixture or substance containing cocaine (21 U.S.C. §§ 841(a)(1) & (b)(1)(C) and 18 U.S.C. § 2); distribution and possession with intent to distribute a mixture or substance containing cocaine (21 U.S.C. §§ 841(a)(1), 841(b)(1)(C), & 860); and possession with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of a mixture or substance containing cocaine (21 U.S.C. §§ 841(a)(1) & 841(b)(1)(B)(ii)). He was sentenced to 120 months of supervised release. On March 30, 2016, President Barack Obama granted Dickens a commutation.
